Spray On Chrome FAQ

Q: How Spray On Chrome compares to spray painting with a metallic paint?
A: Spray On Chrome finish is not paint, although it is applied in a similar manner. It includes a layer of pure silver metal and as a result, it differs considerably in both appearance and feel when compared to paint. Spray On Chrome metalized finish mirror reflection cannot be achieved with paint of any kind.

Q: How Spray On Chrome compares to conventional chrome plating technologies?
A: Some advantages of Spray On Chrome metalizing over 'conventional' chroming include:

  • The Spray On Chrome process is carried out at low temperatures, typically below 60°C, so even thin wall plastic substrates can be coated
  • It can be used on semi-rigid substrates where 'conventional' chroming fails
  • The finish can be applied onto virtually any plastic or metal substrate - practically any item or surface that can be painted can also be metalized
  • It is possible to cover selected areas only, if needed
  • Many coloring tints are available and can be combined to create unlimited color options
  • Small or large volumes can be processed as required
On the other hand, 'conventional' chroming methods allow achieving maximum durability and resistance to outer atmospheric conditions.
